- Living Costumes - I developed this concept in order to offset the negative impact of fire dancing. Burning fuel produces toxic gases, plants produce oxygen. Where possible I attach live plants to costumes. These plants grow, so the costume is constantly changing. Most of the plants used I have picked myself from the wild without harming mother plants in the process. I use live plants in decor as well.
- Left over cork floor from fixing up my apartment I used to make a small stage floor for ground work.
- New fabric used for costumes is 100% organic cotton jersey knit. This type of knit gives a stretch to the fabric, so fabrics with elastane (is a synthetic material) are not necessary. This is important because to this day there is no efficient way to separate mixed fibers of organic and non-organic fabric when it comes to end life cycle.
- Using bio fuels as much as possible. Instead of white gas mixed into the oil I use bio ethanol when available, as bio ethanol lights up as fast as white gas, but it has low toxicity and has minimal negative impact on the environment in comparison to white gas.
- Before buying most of the required items for production I first check all the closets and storage space at home, then I ask friends and family, only after that I go to a second-hand shop and as the last resort to a shop that sells new items. This has not yet applied to fire tools for safety reasons.
